Children’s Ministries

Our children are the most valuable resource with which God has blessed us. They are the future of  His Church. New Sandy Creek places a high value on our children's ministry. Beginning with the youngest infant, and continuing through until the age of 12, we offer many opportunities for our children to have God's  love explained to them, and to instill godly principles and values for our children which will benefit them for a lifetime.

Sunday School

We encourage the participation of our children in Bible Study each Sunday morning during the  Sunday School hour. Our childrens’ teachers are second to none and spend many hours preparing to lead each week.  Whether infant or sixth grader, the Scriptures are shared with the children each Sunday morning, providing opportunities for each child to learn and grow.

Infant and Toddler Care

Nursery facilities are provided for the care of infants and toddlers during our Sunday morning  worship hours.  Adult supervision is provided for both nurseries.  In recent years our facilities have been refurbished and modernized to reflect the high priority New Sandy Creek places on these precious  young people.

Children’s Church

During the summer of 2002 Children’s Church was started for children ages five through twelve.  Led by husband and wife teams, with the assistance of adult and youth vounteers, Children’s Church is an exciting place for our children to be during the 11:00 worship hour on Sunday mornings. The children participate in praise and worship singing, prayer time and special Bible lessons each week.  In addition, each child is given the opportunity to exercise their artistic and creative talents with an arts and crafts project each week.

Christ Kids

Wednesday evenings provide opportunities for our children to learn the principles of Kingdom Work through our childrens missions programs. Infant  and toddler care is provided for our youngest children.

If you are a parent who is concerned for the proper influence and example that your child receives, New Sandy Creek is the place for you as well  as your child. The Bible tells us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We know the worldly influence our children face on a day to day basis, and it  is our desire to give them a solid foundation upon which they can stand and know the difference between right and wrong. It is our desire that these young people develop into godly people who will ultimately bear  the standard of our Lord Jesus in the days to come.

What is Christ Kids and its purpose?

TeamKID is a fun, high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him. All parts of TeamKID—Bible stories, Scripture memory, life application, missions, and recreation—connect to teach life lessons to kids.

What happens in a Christ Kids meeting?

Christ Kids is designed for children to do more than memorize Scripture. It helps children understand what the verses they memorize mean because all parts of the TeamKID meeting focus on one Bible message. The noncompetitive games, Bible story, memory verse, missions, refreshments, and conclusion all contribute to help children understand and apply God’s Word to their lives. A TeamKID meeting has six parts with each one flowing into the next to keep the pace moving with non-stop energy:

  • WARM-UP is the opening activity that begins as soon as the first child arrives at TeamKID.
  • WORKOUT includes energized, interactive Bible study as children hear or experience a Bible story, learn the meaning of a Bible verse, apply Bible       truths to their lives, sing, and pray.
  • REACH OUT uses either the missions DVD, missions activities, or mission action projects to teach children about missions around the world.
  • STRETCHING is when children work on learning the memory verse.
  • THE TOURNAMENT is a time to run, play, and laugh with fun games and activities that reinforce the Bible study.
  • COOL DOWN is the final few minutes of the meeting and includes refreshments and a review of what children have learned.
